This is showing the variations of the facade that came from my study model. M1 is just these curves outline of the building. From M2 to M7 is showing the different in curving,massing, opening and shading.

Plan Study III

At this level, I'm was trying to expand my programs to these possible site, and I think it gave me more options, more spaces to layout my programs.
Some facts about the first floor plan, I lay-outed garden, cafe and public restrooms which are separated from the main building. Auditorium is underground. And I need to make the fire stairs work.
On the second floor will be open gallery for public, included meeting room, periodical room..

Plan Study II

This is my second "Plan Study". In these sketches, I was trying to layout the programs that I have into the exact site. Right now, it is tight and look like a pancake when I extruded everything up, which I don't want to have. The next step that I had in mind was using these 2 possible sites and using some part of the streets to expand the site outward.

Collage and Study Models

My idea about the "connection" was time. Time is never stop, it is the connection between things. As time goes by, it creates movement. Movement of the people, movement of the road,sun,wave,smoke,wind.. Movement could be a break through something to create a connection. Movement also is a process of transforming from one thing to something, from sea-water to salt, from a baby to a adult. And time is the center of everything.

This is my first study model which based on the concept of a clock. It's fragmentary, overlay, matched and worked together. I created 3different curves to represent the main parts.

This model based on the idea of forces (the white strips), break through, movement of surround it like a wind or the smoke (the brown board) that comes from the volcano.

The third study model was the combine of movement and break through. These white trips are overlaying each other, curvy, leaning forward/ backward in the air.
